Creating Your Custom Wedding Gown

After an initial consultation, during which measurements are taken, we produce a toile, a muslin replica of the gown. This gives the bride-to-be an opportunity to see herself in her chosen design and to move around in front of the mirror. This is the time to decide on changes in style or fit. A few sleeve and neckline options are usually provided for comparison at this fitting. After style and fit are agreed upon in muslin, the actual gown is cut and assembled. At the next fitting we check for comfort and movement, correct placement of trims and, if this is the final fitting, mark a hem length. The final undergarments need to be worn from the first muslin fitting on, and shoes of proper height must be worn to mark the hem.
All bodices are lined and flatlined, all seams are designer finished, and hems are hand-sewn when appropriate.

Once the gown is complete, each bride is presented with swatches of her dress fabric, lace, trim, and buttons, so that after the wedding when her gown is put away, she has all the elements of her dress where she can see and show them.
Home-grown forget-me-nots are sewn into the hem of each garment for luck.
